Literally Behind The Scenes : My Wedding Content Creation Workflow

May 25th, 2026 | Written by YOUR DAY By K. LLC

Two of the most asked questions I get as a Wedding Content Creator is..

“What is a wedding content creator?”

“What exactly do you deliver?”

And honestly, I get it because it’s still a pretty new part of the wedding world, so a lot of couples aren’t totally sure what it looks like or how it fits in with the wedding industry. My job is to capture all the real, candid, behind-the-scenes moments throughout your wedding day and get them back to you quickly so you can relive everything almost immediately. The emotional moments, the chaos, the happy tears, the dance floor energy, and all the little in-between things you didn’t even realize were happening while your day was flying by. While your photographer and videographer are focused on those polished, timeless galleries and films, I’m focused on documenting your day as it naturally unfolds in real time through short-form, iPhone-style content that feels like you lived it all over again.

Now, let’s take a dive into my workflow as a Wedding Content Creator!

My Approach On Wedding Days

My approach is pretty simple: I want your day to feel easy, fun, and supported while I capture moments that feel true to you.

A lot of the time, I’m doing way more than just filming. I’m fixing dresses, calming nerves, hyping people up, holding bouquets, and occasionally being like “okay wait… where did the boutonniere go?” So basically part content creator, part bridesmaid, part chaos coordinator and built-in hype girl.

I focus a lot on emotional, candid moments because those are usually the ones couples end up cherishing the most. The deep breath before walking down the aisle, your partner’s reaction during the first look, your friends hyping you up while getting ready, your parents seeing you for the first time… all those real, unposed moments that happen so fast you almost miss them.

And then the reception? That’s honestly one of my favorite parts. Once everyone’s on the dance floor, it’s pure chaos in the best way — shoes off, ties loose, someone’s aunt absolutely tearing it up like it’s 2009. Those clips always end up being some of the most rewatched memories.I love creating content that feels emotional, fun, trendy, authentic and real — but still completely true to you as a couple.

Before The Wedding

The process usually starts through my website contact form where couples send over their wedding date, location, and a few basic details. From there, if we’re a good fit, I send over a more detailed questionnaire so I can really understand your vision, timeline, priorities, and the overall vibe you want your wedding content to have.

About 1–2 months before your wedding, we’ll hop on a discovery call to go over everything. We talk through your timeline, must-have moments, venue details, traditions, inspiration, and anything else that helps me understand your day as clearly as possible. I want every couple to feel comfortable and confident going into their wedding day, so communication beforehand is a really important part of my process.

Wedding Day Workflow

On your wedding day, I always arrive about 45 minutes early depending on how busy the Starbucks line was. This gives me time to get set up, introduce myself to vendors, look over the timeline, and settle in before everything starts moving.

From there, I follow your timeline and document the day as naturally as possible.

I mainly capture content on my iPhone 17 Pro because it lets me move quickly and stay super present in the moment while still getting those candid, social-style clips in real time. I also occasionally use my Sony ZV-1F for certain shots when I want a slightly more stabilized or cinematic feel, but overall my approach is very natural and unobtrusive. I never want the day to feel staged or like a production — just real life happening as it unfolds.

Some of the main moments I focus on are:

  • getting ready moments

  • dress and detail shots

  • emotional reactions

  • ceremony moments

  • candid interactions

  • couple portraits

  • reception details

  • speeches and dances

  • full dance floor chaos

I work alongside your photographer and videographer, not against them. Every vendor has their own role, and my goal is always to blend in, support the flow of the day, and capture the behind-the-scenes perspective that often gets missed.

A lot of what I capture is completely candid and authentic but I may lightly direct a few fun or trendy moments if it fits your vibe. Overall though, I want everything to feel natural and true to your actual wedding day experience.

I also work with a lot of busy brides — whether you’re juggling work, planning, or mom life in the middle of it all. My goal is to take this off your plate completely so you’re not trying to “create content” on your own wedding day while also making sure everything else is running smoothly (and yes, I will absolutely step in if a toddler tries to eat your makeup).

What You Receive After Your Wedding

One of the biggest reasons couples hire a wedding content creator is the fast turnaround.

Your raw gallery is delivered within 24 hours after your wedding, and your edited content is delivered within 72 hours depending on your package.

Your gallery is delivered through Dropbox and organized into folders throughout the day so you’re not scrolling through hundreds of random clips trying to find your first look or ceremony entrance.

Folders I create typically include:

  • getting ready

  • ceremony

  • portraits

  • cocktail hour

  • reception

  • dances

  • speeches

  • venue details

  • candid moments

Everything is organized so you can easily relive different parts of your day and share them with friends and family without digging through tons of files.

Raw Content vs. Edited Content

A lot of people ask “what the heck is raw Content?” and honestly, it’s exactly that — your wedding day as it happened.

Throughout the day, I’m constantly capturing photos and videos in real time. Raw content is delivered mostly unedited so you can experience the day as naturally as possible.

Unlike traditional videography, I’m not creating long cinematic films or heavily polished edits. Raw clips include natural audio, laughter, conversations, cheering, emotional reactions, and all the real-life moments happening in the background.

I do go through and remove duplicates, blurry clips, or anything that doesn’t need to be included, but overall the goal is to keep it authentic and true to your day. Nobody wants a random zoomed in, blurry video of what shoes I wore to the wedding.

Edited videos are separate from your raw gallery and are designed more for social media storytelling. Depending on your package, you’ll typically receive one edited video per 2–3 hours of coverage.

These videos are created in vertical format for platforms like Instagram Reels and TikTok and are meant to feel emotional, trendy, fun, and easy to relive over and over again.

Some focus on emotional storytelling, while others lean into reception energy, transitions, trending audio, or quick highlight moments.

File Storage & Backup

One thing I take seriously is making sure your content is protected after your wedding day.

Your memories matter, which is why I always keep multiple backups — external hard drives, memory cards, and secure storage systems throughout my workflow.

I never want couples to worry about where their content is or whether it’s safe. It’s always backed up and handled with care.

Why Wedding Content Creation Matters

Wedding days go by insanely fast. There are so many moments happening at once that most couples don’t get to fully take everything in as it’s happening. One of my favorite parts of this job is being able to give you those moments back almost immediately. The emotional moments, the laughter, the chaos, the happy tears, the reactions from your people, the packed dance floor at the end of the night — that’s the stuff that really tells the story of your day.

My goal is simple : to capture your wedding exactly as it felt.

Not overly posed. Not forced. Just real moments you’ll actually want to relive forever.

If you’re planning your wedding and want someone to capture all the behind-the-scenes moments you might otherwise miss, I’d love to be part of your day.

And yes… you’ll probably find me on the couch the next day culling footage, uploading content, editing, and re-watching SWAT for the 100th time with my soon to be husband and recovering while our kids turn the house upside down.
